Šumudića criticized two players from Rapid and proposes a replacement from FCSB: “They are lost causes”

Marius Șumudică, the former coach from Rapid, harshly criticized Antoine Baroan and Timotej Jambor, the strikers of the team from Giulești.
Transferred in 2024 for one million euros, Jambor scored only one goal for Rapid in the 21 matches played. He “broke the ice” with Dumbrăvița, score 4-0, in the Romanian Cup. During Şumudica's mandate, Jambor was sent on loan to Zilina.
Baroan arrived in Giulesti in the summer of this year and scored two goals in the Superliga in 14 games played. Şumudica considers the two “lost causes” and proposed to Rapid to transfer a striker.
He mentioned the name of Denis Alibec, whom he wanted last season. The transfer was not made then because Gică Hagi did not let the player leave Farul.

“Rapid can become stronger, I understand that there will be transfers. I hope they don't make transfers like Baroan, I think that won't happena. Given that the sporting director traveled to Italy to find a number 10, they will probably also change the system, they will play a 4-2-3-1.
They will probably bring a striker too, you can't just stay in Koljic. I also saw Jambor in this match, he kept saying that he was not given chances. From my point of view, it is not up to the Rapid, to be a gentleman, not to use another term.
No one can take Alibec's value, you can't compare Alibec with Baron or Jambor. In every way, as a footballer, as an experience, everything. But I don't know if it would be an option for Rapid, Mr. Angelescu, Mr. Pederzoli and Costel Gâlcă have the last word, they know best what they need.
Last year I wanted Alibec at Rapid, Mr. Șucu also wanted him, but Hagi didn't want to let him go. Alibec would be a player that would help you, but I am convinced that the scouting department, where there are so many capable people, is working and they will find a striker.
I hope it's over Baron and Jambor, from my point of view the two are two lost causes and money spent for nothing, important sums, giving a million to Jambor and 400,000 to Baroan means a lot for the budget of a team”, said Şumudică, according to fanatik.ro.
