The President of the USR, Dominic Fritz, defended the Minister of the Environment, Diana Buzoianu, for the way she acted regarding the water crisis in Prahova and Dâmbovița counties, and claims that the way in which “PSD uses the suffering of hundreds of thousands of people politically is not only cynical, but above all stupid”.
“They put the cannons again on the brave minister Diana Buzoianu, but they are actually giving themselves up. How the PSD politically uses the suffering of hundreds of thousands of people is not only cynical, but especially stupid”, said Fritz, on Thursday, in a post on Facebook.
The leader of the USR claims that the local institutions in Prahova and Dâmbovița counties “which failed miserably were led by their own “woeful and bitter” people.”
“Piles and mistresses, flying around in luxury jets while they trashed the water infrastructure! The consequence is brutal: over 100,000 people without running water. A crisis that was born not from an unpredictable storm, but from corruption, incompetence and old complicity,” continued Dominic Fritz.
He believes that the USR Minister of the Environment “did exactly what a leader should do”.
“He activated crisis cells for quick reactions, sent the control body, works directly with the teams in the ministry for solutions. He reacted promptly, firmly, transparently – even if he was lied to by the politicized structures in the territory,” added the USR president.
Dominic Fritz also claims that Diana Buzoianu “hasn't had easy days” since taking over the mandate of Minister of the Environment.
“He started the Romsilva reform, shook the institutional networks, put the magnifying glass on abuses and demanded transparency. He appointed interim directors without a party card, opened contests for positions. He did exactly what the system does not support: he broke the chain of privileges”, he also declared.
Fritz claims 'USR is under assault'
The USR leader says that Diana Buzoianu is “fiercely attacked” and the party “is under assault”.
“The attacks come in a context where the USR is under attack. The stake is multiple: to distract attention from their corruption, to sabotage the campaign of Cătălin Drula, to backfire on President Dan. But above all to discredit the idea itself that Romania must and can be reformed, cleaned”, concluded the president of the USR, Dominic Fritz.
