Graduates of the 9th Professional Class.FM School No. 1 in Borodino successfully passed examination tests at the V.P. Astafiev Mining College, where they immersed themselves in surveying for a year.
Like real students, the schoolchildren attended educational and practical classes, and in November the children demonstrated everything they had learned and learned to the examination committee, which included technical school teachers and specialists from the Borodino open-pit mine.
“The exam was held to the fullest extent, no discounts for age,” admits the chief surveyor of the Borodino open-pit mine, Lyubov Semenova. — I believe that in the modern world, where technology is developing at a rapid pace and the labor market is constantly updating, the issue of professional training for schoolchildren is especially relevant. Career guidance helps them determine their inclinations and abilities, gain basic skills in their chosen profession, and adapt their knowledge to the real needs of the labor market.”
The guys did not hide their excitement, but showed a high level of preparation. Already today, some of them are looking to the future with confidence. For them, a profession certificate is not just a “tick”, but a conscious choice of path.
“After finishing nine grades, I plan to improve my professional level and enter a mining technical school,” Evgenia Kolesnik, a student of the 9th Professional Class.FM School No. 1, shares her plans. — I was truly fascinated by surveying. During my training, I really enjoyed working with the level. I have already decided for myself that in the future I want to work at the Borodino open-pit mine. In general, we are very lucky; such an opportunity – to study the enterprises of our city from the inside, to immerse ourselves in the profession – is not given to everyone. This is very cool!”
Eighth-graders will also have to go through the same path. Boys and girls have already become acquainted with the educational opportunities of the V.P. Astafiev Mining Technical College: they visited the sites where future mining masters, surveyors, and special equipment operators are trained.
Other mining towns in the Krasnoyarsk Territory continue to immerse themselves in the world of fuel and energy industry professions. In Sharypovo, professional class students from school No. 1 took part in a sports and educational quest, which was organized for them by activists of the Youth Council of the Berezovsky open-pit mine. The kids had to show ingenuity, logic, and endurance in performing unusual tasks: packing a miner’s lunch and calculating its calorie content, identifying safety violations from pictures, and demonstrating strength in industrial fitness.
“We really like joint events,” says 9th Profklass.FM student Evgenia Guseva. “The knowledge gained during our excursions, meetings, and lessons is very helpful in such quests. For example, we recently hosted an unusual game “Mining”. Through riddles about mines and minerals, we also showed knowledge of the Russian language. Like young geologists looking for minerals, we identified errors in sentences by combining words from letters. It’s as if the activity turned into a treasure-hunting expedition, only the main treasures here are my knowledge and the joy of the game.”
Nazarovo students of Profklassov.FM from school No. 7 and gymnasium No. 9 also demonstrated their knowledge in the field of energy and coal mining. At the Museum and Exhibition Center, specialists from the institution and employees of the Nazarovo open-pit mine held an intellectual game for them: schoolchildren showed good knowledge of theory, analyzed career prospects in the mining industry and tried themselves as workers by completing practical tasks on rock production.
