UTA – FCSB provided the first tense moment from the 34th minute, when Robert Necșulescu, debutant in the first team of the Romanian champion, was directly eliminated by the referee Andrei Roman after a hard tackle on Alexandru Benga.
Initially, the center showed him a yellow, but he immediately reversed the decision and sent the 19-year-old player to the locker room, considering the foul to be far too imprudent to remain at just a warning. Thus, FCSB remained numerically inferior since the first half.
