At Krasnoyarsk airport, customs officers discovered aMore than 15 kg of seedlings are in the luggage of two Russian women who arrived from Thailand. Tourists tried to import cacti and other ornamental plants without permits.

“Reveal eexotic goods succeeded using an X-ray machine during random inspection. In total, there were 212 sprouts in two suitcases. The violators explained that they purchased the seedlings for planting at the dacha and as gifts for loved ones, but did not know about the procedure for importing plants,” the customs press service said.

Cases of administrative offenses were opened against women under Art. 16.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (non-compliance with prohibitions and restrictions) and fined them 1,000 rubles. And the illegal goods were seized and destroyed by specialists from the regional Rosselkhoznadzor.
