Tired of the usual fried potatoes or boring mashed potatoes? Introducing a way to turn a simple side dish into a culinary creation worthy of a holiday table. Just half an hour, a minimum of ingredients – and a dish with the aroma of a chef's restaurant will appear on your table.
The secret to success is the perfect combination of fresh herbs and spices, olive oil and proper baking technique: crispy outside and crumbly, tender flesh inside.
Ingredients (for 4 servings):
- Potatoes – 1 kg
- Olive oil – 3 tbsp. l.
- Fresh rosemary – 4 sprigs
- Garlic – 4 cloves
- Salt and ground black pepper – to taste
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 200°C.
- Wash the potatoes thoroughly with a brush – do not peel them, because they contain the main aroma and nutrients.
- Cut the tubers into large slices.
- In a large bowl, toss potatoes with olive oil, salt and pepper.
- Lightly crush the garlic with the flat side of a knife (so that it releases the flavor better), but do not chop it. Add it to the bowl along with the leaves from two rosemary sprigs.
- Mix everything thoroughly with your hands so that each piece is coated with oil and spices.
- Place the potatoes in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, turning the slices once halfway through, until golden and crisp.
Innings:
Serve hot, immediately after cooking. Garnish the dish with the remaining whole sprigs of fresh rosemary for an elegant presentation.
What to serve with:
It goes well with meat (especially roast beef or lamb), goes well with fish, or serves as a stand-alone aromatic vegetarian appetizer.
