Siberian Generating Company took part in Kansk City Day and organized a large interactive location for residents.
On the day of the city’s 390th anniversary, the energy workers’ playground combined games, creativity, science, family activities and a lively conversation about how warmth and light come into homes.
The City Day opened with a colorful procession that brought together about 2,000 people. Columns of enterprises, organizations and institutions marched along 40 Let Oktyabrya Street to the Tekstilshchik stadium. The teams prepared in advance for the celebration under the guidance of the city administration.
Together with other participants, employees of the Kanskaya Thermal Power Plant and the Kanskaya Heating Network, enterprises of the Yenisei TGC, a division of the SGC in the Yenisei Siberia region, walked along the main street.
After the festive concert, interactive zones prepared by companies operating in Kansk were launched at the stadium. One of the most useful was the “Security Academy”. Employees of the Kanskaya Thermal Power Plant and the Kanskaya Heating Network showed the children how to use a fire extinguisher in a playful format and explained basic first aid skills. The guys tried themselves as rescuers, asked questions and immediately put their new knowledge into practice.
Construction was in full swing nearby: children were assembling a thermal power plant from large cubes. This is how complex production turned into an understandable game, and the word “energy” into a living image: here is the station, here are the pipes, here are the houses where light and heat come.
The energy workers have prepared a creative zone for young artists and their parents. The guests together painted the drawn city with paints and felt-tip pens. Everyone added their own colors to Kansk – some painted bright houses, others painted trees, sun, streets and a festive mood.
The musical attraction, where bicycles turned into instruments, attracted special attention. As soon as you started pedaling, the space was filled with sounds. So ordinary movement became music, and energy literally came to life before our eyes.
The real point of attraction was the scientific and practical show. The Energy Museum of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, created and supported by the SGC, spoke in a simple and visual form about the laws of physics, thanks to which there is heat and light in the homes of Kansk residents. Children and adults saw the experiments, were surprised, laughed and learned that behind the usual comfort there are precise calculations, equipment and the work of specialists.
Here they competed in knowledge about energy, heating networks, the Kanskaya Thermal Power Plant, saving resources and the profession of power engineer. The quiz questions ranged from simple and fun to ones that required the whole team to think. But the biggest and brightest point was the photo zone. A helmet and vest turned even the youngest guests into energy drinks for a few minutes, and no one refused this opportunity. Photos from the site became part of the large family album of City Day.
“Kansk is 390 years old – this is a great history that was created by several generations of city residents. The Kanskaya Thermal Power Plant became part of this history relatively recently – this year it turns 53 years old. Nevertheless, energy has become an important part of life in Kansk, the foundation of development and well-being. All this time we have been living and working together with the city, making sure that the residents’ homes are always warm and light. Because energy is, first of all, about people. About comfort in every home, about the stable operation of schools, kindergartens, hospitals and enterprises. Therefore, we continue to develop the heat supply system, increasing its reliability, closing inefficient boiler houses, improving the environment in the city. Kansk is growing and changing, and we are glad to be part of these changes. I sincerely congratulate our city and its residents on their big anniversary! I wish Kansk further development and prosperity, and every family – peace, happiness, light and warmth!” — said the director of the Kanskaya CHPP, Viktor Vladimirov.
The head of the Kansky municipal district, Konstantin Kovalev, emphasized that the anniversary has become a common event for the entire city: “390 years is a significant age for the city, and today I look with pride at how our work collectives and residents united to celebrate this day. The sincere emotions on the faces of the march participants and the loud applause of the spectators at the Tekstilshchik stadium are the best confirmation that we are a big and friendly family. Thanks to everyone for their contribution to the development of our city. Happy anniversary!
The SGC site became one of the places where City Day turned into a warm family meeting: children tried new things, parents participated with them, and power engineers talked about their work simply, clearly and with soul. About 700 people visited the Company’s location during the day.
