The media recalls the scandal that broke out after during one of his previous visits to the Russian Federation (February 11 and March 13 in Moscow and April 11 in St. Petersburg), Vitkoff, who does not speak Russian, according to media reports, negotiated with the illegitimate Russian President Vladimir Putin using a Russian translator, thereby violating long-established protocol.

“The American delegation, which came to present Vladimir Putin with a new peace plan for Ukraine, took a more careful approach to selecting a translator. […] This time […] accompanied by a translator who has been collaborating with the State Department since 2017,” the Agency reports.

According to him, Witkoff is being translated by American Tatyana Albert.

In 1984, the media writes, she graduated from the Herzen Russian State Pedagogical University with a degree in English and French teacher, and in 1991 she became a Doctor of Philosophy in foreign languages ​​there. In 2015, Albert defended her Master of Business Administration in International Business at Liberty University (Virginia, USA).

“The first and last name Albert appears under an open letter from translators from Ukrainian and Russian into English who condemned Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. In February 2022, this initiative was launched by a translator from the United States, Anne O. Fisher,” the journalists note.

According to their observations, Albert had already accompanied Witkoff during his last trip to Moscow in August.

At the meeting on December 2, linguist Alexey Sadykov, who has repeatedly acted as Putin’s translator, will translate from the Russian side, the Agency writes.
