The U.S. Department of State said in a statement that “under President Trump's leadership, the G20 will refocus on its core mission of driving economic growth and prosperity to deliver results.”

“As we implement these critically needed reforms, we will prioritize three core issues: achieving economic prosperity by reducing regulatory burdens, unlocking affordable and secure energy supply chains, and embracing new technologies and innovations,” the statement said.

The Department of State announced that the summit of leaders of the group bringing together the world's largest economies will be held in Miami, Florida. It was also noted that in 2026 the USA will celebrate its 250th anniversary.

At the beginning of September, President of the Republic of Poland Karol Nawrocki said during his visit to Washington that US President Donald Trump had invited him to the G20 summit in Florida. As announced by the head of the International Policy Bureau, Marcin Przydacz, this is to be the first step in Poland's efforts to join this group.

The USA takes over the leadership of the group from South Africa. Trump recently announced that he would not invite South Africa to the G20 summit in Miami. He accused the country of being “unworthy of membership” in any organization. U.S. representatives were absent from the organization's recent summit in Johannesburg. The US president emphasizes that Afrikaners are victims of discrimination in South Africa, inhabited mostly by black people. The government in Pretoria rejects these claims.

The G20 Group is a forum bringing together 19 countries as well as the EU and the African Union, which is responsible for approximately 85 percent. world GDP and over 75 percent trade and represents two thirds of the world's population. Although it does not have a permanent secretariat and does not make binding decisions, it is a key platform for discussions about global challenges.
