Meanwhile, on Tuesday afternoon, MEPs present at the petitions committee meeting voted against taking up Romanowski's case.

According to Joński, the motion was defeated by the votes of PiS MEPs, who decided to take advantage of the fact that many MEPs were absent at Tuesday's meeting of the petition committee – including Joński – and, contrary to the coordinators' decision in the morning, voted to reject the motion regarding Romanowski.

Joński announced that he would submit the application again. — The coordinators will deal with it in January. Today's vote only resulted in the Romanowski case being postponed by two or three weeks, the KO politician assured. He added that he was not at the vote because he was taking part in a debate in the transport committee at the same time.

The chairman of the petition committee, PiS MEP Bogdan Rzońca, told PAP that the vote was in accordance with the procedures and that it was requested by Spanish MEP Diego Solier. He belongs to the European Conservatives and Reformists group, which also includes PiS. — Formal issues prevailed. If the remaining MEPs had come to vote, they might have won, Rzońca said.
