The Hungarian carrier announced that the introduction of new connections is associated with the expansion of the operational base in Gdańsk. The fleet at this airport will soon include a ninth Airbus A321neo aircraft, which will enable it to serve additional routes.
The new destinations include flights to Poprad, Tallinn, Vilnius, Athens and Nice. As emphasized by the president of Wizz Air, József Váradi, Poland remains one of the key markets for the carrier, and Gdańsk plays a central role in this strategy..
Poprad, i.e. “Zakopane-Tatry” in the Wizz Air reservation system
First flights to Poprad, advertised as “Zakopane-Tatry”, will start on December 25, 2025, i.e. on the first day of Christmas. Connections will be operated twice a week – on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This connection is to be particularly attractive for winter recreation enthusiasts, who will be able to find themselves in the very heart of the Tatra Mountains in a short time.

In addition to flights to Poprad, Wizz Air will also introduce connections to Tallinn, Athens, Vilnius and Nice.
Flights to the capital of Estonia will start on May 1, 2026 and will be available five times a week. On the same day, flights to Athens will start and will be operated three times a week.
In turn, on May 2, 2026, the carrier will launch flights to Vilnius and Nice, available four times a week.

“Today we can plan wonderful trips to the sources of history in Athens, to the beautiful Côte d'Azur to Nice and to our neighbors to the east and south. Additionally, it will be possible to fly to the Slovak Tatra Mountains, to Poprad, for Christmas and winter break,” he noted.
