During the conversation, Gordon asked Elizarov: “How long will the war last?”
“Forever,” the military man answered briefly.
According to Elizarov, Ukrainians have several dreams. Among them is the death of the illegitimate Russian President Vladimir Putin, who launched a full-scale war against Ukraine, and also for the Americans to give Kyiv “something” so that “we press the buttons, and this something will blow Russia away.”
“Probably the third dream is this: they will sign an agreement, they will protect us, there will be a lot of money, we will build, have fun and have fun. In principle, three of these are probably the main dreams that I meet among people who live this way. And this is very relaxing,” said the commander of the UAV unit of Lasar’s Group.
Elizarov emphasized that every promise of “ending the war” demotivates even him, who “understands that it will never end.”
“It demotivates me, because I, any fighter in the trench will say: “Why should I fight now? For this haste with the observation post, relatively speaking? And if the war ends tomorrow and everyone celebrates, will I be lying in a coffin, relatively speaking? That is, it’s, well, a relaxing element,” said the military man.
It’s better that the war ends, and then “everyone will breathe a sigh” – “the fighter will be alive and will rejoice with his family,” Elizarov added.
“We won’t get this neighbor anywhere. We ourselves cannot leave him. That is, we will be neighbors. If we don’t understand today that we, like Israel, must live surrounded by the enemy, and we must be strong and organized […] We must understand that we do not have two peoples: one in the restaurants, the other in the trenches. This is one people, the rules are fair for everyone,” said the commander of the Lasar’s Group UAV unit.
According to Elizarov, Ukrainian troops must be technological.
“That is, drones. Contact battles should not occur. In principle, we must come to this, and everyone is working for victory,” he concluded.
