VIDEO. Cristina Laslo reacted after Denmark – Romania 39-31: “In the end, their experience in major competitions and their players made the difference”
“I want to thank all the Romanians who were with us from the stands. They were sensational! I think there were a lot behind the TVs too, and we feel this every day.
We wanted the victory. We wanted to stay close to Denmark and put pressure on them, but unfortunately in the end they were better and took the lead. We couldn't get into the game and stay close.
We wanted to stop their best phase, the second phase and the counter-attack, and stay close to them, put pressure. That's what we got in the first half. We scored, I think, 18 goals in the first half, which is not easy with Denmark. In the end, their experience in major competitions and their players made the difference. And, of course, the gate.
I want to congratulate my team. It was a battle game with our fans who got our backs. We want to thank them. It was a sensational day. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to win on Romania's Day, but I congratulate my team for their effort.
Until the match with Hungary, we can adjust the final part, the foul part. We are good in pressing and in the dark, but we don't make the decisive foul and that costs us. An experienced player can feel it and it showed today.
We have a day off tomorrow. We have to start from scratch. We start in the Main Round, where I hope we go confidently, with our heads held high. I want to think that there we score points and get into the top 10, if not the top 8. That's what we want. We have 2 points from the group, but we want to get a lot of points”, Cristina Laslo said.
I scored 9 goals, but I'm not very happy, because I wanted to win. Unfortunately, it was not possible and now we have to focus on the next game. We have a tough duel with Hungary ahead of us, but with the right people around us, we can overcome anything and we really want the win.
A message for supporters: we are waiting for you with us and we love you!
