On Wednesday afternoon at the PiS headquarters at ul. A meeting of the Presidium of the PiS Political Committee was held at Nowogrodzka Street in Warsaw. On the same day around 18, the group's parliamentary club also gathered for an away meeting in a town near Warsaw.

Has there been agreement in PiS “for years”?

Party spokesman Rafał Bochenek was asked about the course of both meetings in the Polsat News program in the evening. As the politician reported, during the Presidium meeting “there was agreement on the directions of action for the coming months and most likely also years.”

Our primary goal is to restore a government in Poland, a party that will be guided primarily by the interests of Polish citizens. There were no disputes here. We all work together and in the red and white team of Law and Justice Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki is also thereas well as many other politicians who were at the Presidium of the Political Committee today and are at our away club meeting – said Bochenek.

As he said, the vast majority of PiS MPs were present during the club meeting. – The beginning of the year is a good opportunity to summarize the past months, but also to outline certain actions for the future – he added.

Technical Prime Minister? “We will reveal our cards”

Bochenek was asked, among others: about whether PiS is considering a motion for a constructive vote of no confidence in the government with a candidate for the position of technical prime minister, which could include, among others, former Polish ambassador to NATO Tomasz Szatkowski or former Minister of Development and Technology Piotr Nowak, as reported on Wednesday in the “Polityczny WF” Interia podcast.

We are considering various scenarios, they were also partially discussed today at the meeting of the Presidium of the Political Committee and we will certainly reveal the cards in the coming days – replied the party spokesman. He noted that he did not want to anticipate PiS's moves and scenarios that the party is considering.

Scouts, butter makers and two Christmas Eves

Since the end of November last year PiS politicians unofficially admit that a conflict has arisen within the group between supporters of former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, called “scouts”, and a group of his opponents, gathered, among others, around Przemysław Czarnek, Jacek Sasin, Tobiasz Bocheński and Patryk Jaki, known as the “butters” or the faction of the former head of the Ministry of Justice, Zbigniew Ziobro. In unofficial conversations with PAP, PiS politicians admitted that Morawiecki and his faction were behaving unacceptable from the point of view of party cohesion, even questioning the leadership of President Jarosław Kaczyński and doing everything to get them thrown out.

The last expression of the dispute was the organization in mid-December last year. two competitive Christmas Eve meetings in PiS. One took place at the party headquarters at ul. Nowogrodzka in Warsaw, with the president of PiS and the party leadership. The second one was organized by Morawiecki and many PiS politicians also showed up. Earlier, Morawiecki, who is the vice-president of PiS, did not take part in a meeting of the party authorities devoted to the situation in the party.

PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński argued on Wednesday after a meeting of the Presidium of the Political Committee that the dreams of his party's opponents about the collapse “will certainly not come true.” He announced that the party, as one, will go to the next elections with a full program appealing to various social groups and needs.
