Uli Hoeness, the honorary chairman of Bayern, has said how he sees from Munich the crisis that Liverpool are going through, even though they spent more than 500 million in the summer to strengthen their squad.

Liverpool ended a 3-game losing streak on Sunday with a 2-0 win over West Ham in London. But it is still far from emerging from its worst crisis in 72 years.

Liverpool's worst crisis in 72 years

A crisis marked by 9 defeats suffered since the start of the 2024 – 2025 season that stunned the whole world, especially since the club made a special effort in the summer when he bought players that he gave over 500 million euros!

The honorary president of Bayern, Uli Hoeness, joined those trying to explain the phenomenon that effectively brought the English champion to her knees.

The Bavarians even competed with Liverpool in the offseason, for the services of Florian Wirtz, but the English awarded the German international by paying Bayer Leverkusen no less than 125 million euros, to which bonuses will be added!

Uli Hoeness: “At Liverpool everyone should have their own ball”

In the opinion of Hoeness, a former German international and Bayern player in the 70s and 80s, it all comes down to the fact that Liverpool have too many stars and too few players willing to sink to the bottom line.

“They only have bosses and no 'Indians'. I've always said it: Liverpool will soon have to play with five balls so that the stars can each have their own. Neither wants to give up the balloon“, pointed out the German official, who also sympathized with Wirtz.

Uli Hoeness: “They don't give Florian Wirtz any balls, they want to play them all”

“Poor Florian Wirtz doesn't even get a ball because Salah, Szoboszlai and everyone else wants them to play them all,” commented Hoeness, known for his critical style. Salah was also accused by Liverpool fans of selfishness after the match against Eintracht Frankfurt (5-1) in the Champions League.

A strong explanation for Liverpool's crisis:

“Salah needs to stop this selfish nonsense he's doing. He could have easily scored two assists tonight if he hadn't shot from places where he was better to pass from,” was one of the accusations leveled at the Egyptian striker at the time.

Manager Arne Slot (47 years old) also got fed up, and on Sunday, against West Ham (2-0), he left Mohamed Salah (33 years old) on the bench. His response when asked why he gave him a break: “There are other players in the squad.”
