Democrata declared a state of emergency pursuant to the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. This action was a reaction to a “extraordinary and extraordinary threat to national security, foreign policy and the United States economy.” It was a response to “harmful foreign activities of the government of the Russian Federation.”
These activities included interfering with democratic election processes, conducting cyber attacks aimed at America and their allies, the use of corruption in order to influence the rule of other countries and attacks on people with different views and media representatives. Other allegations included, among others undermining security in countries and regions that are important for US national security, as well as violating international law norms, including the principles of territorial integrity of sovereign states.
“This situation is still an extraordinary and extraordinary threat to national security, foreign policy and United States economy” – emphasized in the published document. This justifies the maintenance of emergency funds in force for the next year.
The MSN information service notes that the decree of President Biden on the introduction of an emergency was primarily aimed at Blocking Russian assets under the US jurisdiction and imposing economic sanctions.
According to the sources of Fox News, the incumbent president was to convince that Putin deliberately delays the suspension of weapons in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. As a result, the administration in Washington is considering tightening existing sanctions against Russia. The US president assessed on Saturday that talks on the end of the war in Ukraine were going well, but he suggested that the time would soon come to go from words to deed. Trump referred to the Friday talks of his envoy Stev Witkoff with Putin during the flight to the Mixed Martial Arts Gala in Miami.
– We're going to fight. We have many fights around the world and I think that we will soon have many good news about some of them and see how it will go. But it was an interesting weekend. I think we have quite good news about some conflicts, “he said, referring to Witkoff's conversations with Putin and Saturday's conversations of his envoy with the head of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Oman.
-I think Ukraine-Russia can go okay. But we will soon find out. There is a moment when you have to stop talking, just acting. We'll see what happens, but I think it's going well – he said.
Commenting on conversations on the Iranian nuclear program, he also stated that they were going “okay”, but added that he did not want to talk about it, because “nothing matters until he did it.”
