Huge delay after the Bucharest-Timișoara train hit an axle on the railway line

The National Company “CFR” SA reports that on Saturday evening, November 29, a train hit an axle belonging to a technological wagon. Due to this incident, the train was delayed by 138 minutes.

“National Railway Company “CFR” SA informs that on the evening of November 29, 2025, around 19:05, on highway 100, in CF Crușovăț station, train IR 1691 overtook and hit an axle belonging to a technological wagon on the II direct line”, transmit CFR.
The train in question, which departs from Bucharest Nord Station and arrives at Timișoara Nord Station, arrived 214 minutes later, including the delays accumulated before the incident, as shown on the company's website.
“After stopping the train, the railway staff identified a second carriage axle placed on line III, by unknown persons. The preliminary analysis confirms that these elements had no technical justification on the infrastructure, and their placement endangered the safety of traffic and the integrity of passengers and railway staff.
On completion of on-site investigations, train IR 1691 continued its journey, with a delay of 138 minutes”transmits CFR.
Thus, the company “strongly condemns such behaviors that can generate serious incidents and cooperates with the authorities to identify the persons involved. Those responsible will answer to the law according to the applicable provisions.”
