Genoa leaves the relegation zone. De Rossi registers the first victory on the bench of the team of Dan Șucu + Nicolae Stanciu, transfer to Rapid?

Genoa achieved an important victory, 2-1 against Verona, in the 13th round of Serie A. The success, which came without Nicușor Stanciu on the field, removes Daniele De Rossi's team from the relegation zone and continues the good form started after the first triumph of the season against Sassuolo.

Verona were the first to score through Belghali in the 21st minute, but the hosts turned the score around thanks to goals from Colombo and Thorsby. The three points obtained take Genoa to 11th in the standings and mark their first home win of the season, the previous one dating back to April, when the Genoese beat Udinese.

However, the end of the year promises to be difficult for De Rossi's band

Genoa have five more official games in 2025, including a double with Atalanta, in the league and in the Coppa Italia. In addition, there are duels with Udinese, Inter and AS Roma.

The confrontation with Cristi Chivu's team is scheduled for December 14, at the Luigi Ferraris stadium. The schedule remains busy even during the holidays, so Genoa will play on December 29th and return to action just a few days away on January 3rd.

Nicolae Stanciu would leave Genoa

Nicolae Stanciu (32 years old) did not find his place at Genoa, the club he arrived at free of contract this summer, being affected by several injuries that complicated his debut.

Italian journalist Nico Schira announced that there is a chance that Stanciu will leave the team this winter, after only half a season.

The Romanian's contract with Genoa is valid until the summer of 2027, and one of the options discussed would even be a loan to Rapid, especially since there have been several moves in this direction. Stanciu has an annual salary of approximately two million euros at Genoa, much more than what is offered in the Superliga.
