The former candidate for the presidential elections and the current mayor of Câmpulung, Elena Lasconi, said on Sunday, on the Digi24 Briefing show, that the Bolojan government “is the worst government in the history of Romania in the last 35 years”. In addition, Lasconi announced that he will sue the Government, for blocking projects with European funds.
“I am extremely angry with the current government, I am excessively angry, I am so angry that I could say, seeing how much it affects the people of Câmpulunge, that it is the worst government in the history of Romania in the last 35 years,” declared Elena Lasconi.
“They killed the projects, many projects with European funds, projects for which we spent the little money we had in the budget, because we are a poor town hall, we don't have investors, we are not a town hall to compare ourselves with a city where there are investors and there is more money in the budget. So we spent the little money we had to do documentation, to attract European funds and we were awarded for that, I am still awarded, this even with those that the Bolojan government killed for me,” said the former presidential candidate.
“It is a big mistake to kill investment in a capitalist society”
“There were projects that we competed on. I mean, it was first come, first served and I signed a contract with the Romanian state and I am determined to sue the Romanian state and I will not give up. And if I am going to be mayor again and if I am not going to be mayor anymore, I will not give up. I will go all the way to do justice to the people of Campululungen. If the mayors in other places are just spectators and do not want to do this, I will be the mayor who will do this for that it doesn't seem normal and it's a big mistake to kill investments in a capitalist society”, explained Lasconi.
Asked to explain more clearly what the Government will sue for, Lasconi spoke about a project to purchase electric buses and minibuses that was blocked following a decision by the executive.
“For example, it's a component, I don't know if it interests too many people or not. I want to use a lot of technicalities, but it was about electric buses and minibuses. These are products, yes, they are goods, they are products. Ordinance 41 refers to services and investments. Right. They cut my project of electric buses and minibuses, which normally should have gone ahead because it was neither in the services category nor in the investment category, and they cut that so they had the muscle, that is, when the ordinance came into force. I mean, we are talking about apples, no connection. We are talking about more than 20 million lei, not to mention the ticketing system and the waiting stations. And one more thing, that this project it was below 30% (execution stage, no) Are we all crazy? So the electric buses and minibuses project can be at 0% or at 100%, there is no 12%, there is no 15%. There is zero that you are in the tender with it, or 100% when you have them.”
Asked if she had a discussion with Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, Elena Lasconi said that “you have no one to talk to”.
“They are in their own world and it's sad because I believed in Mr. Bolojan's experience at the mayor's office and that's why I was the first to propose him. But now, if I were the president of Romania, I would definitely tell him to go home.”
