Bilous's wife on accusations of violence against her husband: It's karma

The director's wife believes that the misunderstanding between students and teachers is to a certain extent due to the fact that neither one nor the other understands their rights and responsibilities.

“It was necessary to restore order both on the part of students and on the part of teachers. Because now students are already writing complaints against accountants for not looking at it correctly. These are the consequences of the fact that young people do not understand the relationship with teachers. I do not undertake to give advice, but there are clear limits of responsibility of teachers and students,” added Irina Bilous.

After former student Bilous Sophia Shoemaker was accused of sexual advances by a teacher on January 27 it became knownWhat Bilous was suspended from teaching at the theater university until investigation by law enforcement agencies. Belous February 4 announced that he had filed a police report.

On February 10, the National Police opened criminal proceedings regarding unlawful actions on the part of Bilous. On the same day, the Kyiv City State Administration announced that they would remove Belous from work at the Young Theater, where he works director and leader.

In March, Belous returned to work in the theater. On April 24 he became an assistant professor.

On May 8, the actors of the Young Theater, after finishing the play “Dangerous Liaisons,” addressed the audience with a statement. The actors said that about 80% of their colleagues in the theater suffered from Bilous's sexual advances, and called on society not to remain silent about it.
