In Berezovka, Krasnoyarsk Territory, police uncovered the theft of a large sum of money from a woman from the Irkutsk region. A 41-year-old resident of Barnaul is suspected of committing the crime.

It was established that the attacker, who was visiting a relative in the regional center, noticed the victim at the food base. A 65-year-old businesswoman came to Berezovka to buy goods, bI gave birth between the aisles and, while paying for my next purchase, accidentally “exposed” a wad of money.

“The suspect, experiencing financial difficulties, decided to profit at someone else’s expense. TOWhen the victim left her property in one of the warehouses and went into another room, the attacker made sure that no one was watching her, took a bag with cash in the amount of 330 thousand rubles from her bag and disappeared. Having discovered the loss, the victim immediately contacted the police,” said the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Investigators identified the attacker. The woman managed to spend part of the stolen goods on personal needs; the remaining 306 thousand rubles were confiscated from her and will soon be returned to the rightful owner.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding theft on a large scale (Part 3 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code). The sanction of the article implies a maximum penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to 6 years. In the meantime, the defendant has been chosen as a preventive measure in the form of house arrest.
