The terrifying moment a Russian Dragon drone rains fire on the 'tunnels of life'

A horrifying Russian drone attack has taken place on a road covered in fishing nets, a so-called 'tunnel of life': footage captures the moment a rain of fire from incendiary munitions pours down on this mesh roof meant to protect vehicles from air attacks.

A so-called dragon drone released fireballs along the mesh tunnels – until they all caught fire and were reduced to cinders.

The balls released by the drones contain the dreaded mitite—a mixture of aluminum and iron oxide, a compound developed more than a century ago to weld train tracks that can melt steel. The compound is highly flammable, burning at temperatures of 2,500 degrees Celsius and cannot be extinguished, continuing to burn until consumed.

It is the latest weapon unleashed by the Russians, a weapon designed to destroy everything in its path on the Ukrainian front – from civilian infrastructure to vehicles and fortified positions.

Vladimir Putin declared himself ready to give written assurances to Europe that he would not attack it after the end of the war in Ukraine. And yet all signs point to Russia producing devastating weapons – including missiles – at an alarming rate, according to experts.

Former British Army officer Nicholas Drummond said the deployment of the Dragon drones was intended to cause terror.

He told CNN: “It's absolutely terrible. Using a drone to disperse it is an innovative idea.”

“But used in this way, the impact is psychological rather than physical,” he added.

This is not the first time that dragon drones have been used in war. Kiev has in turn deployed its fearsome weapons to unleash a rain of fire on Kremlin-controlled territories.

Last September, a drone was filmed hovering over wooded areas where the Russians hide equipment and fortifications.
