Liverpool have suffered 9 defeats in their last 12 official matches, the last against Eindhoven (1-4), in the Champions League.

Liverpool could turn to Jurgen Klopp (58 years old) to save the season – reveals tabloid The Sun on Friday morning. The German technician would be the first option of the club bosses if they decide at some point to give up the services of the Dutch manager Arne Slot.

Jurgen Klopp until the summer, then Luis Enrique

They would ask the German technician to take over the team until the end of the current season. Klopp trained the current champions of England for 9 years, between 2015 and 2024, and in January 2025 he took over the position of “global head of football” at the Red Bull concern.

After the final whistle of the current season, Klopp would hand over the baton to Luis Einrique, from PSG, who, according to the same The Sun, “is the long-term solution” for the technical bench.

Arne Slot was put in the meeting, but claims that he still has the support of the bosses

Arne Slot, meanwhile, insists he still has the backing of the club's American owners Fenway Sports Group (FSG) – despite a mind-boggling run of nine defeats in 12 games which has put him under huge pressure.

The Dutchman does not deny that he has been in discussions with his bosses throughout the nightmare spell which worsened on Wednesday with the 4-1 home defeat to PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League.

But he states that they are “the same kind of discussions that we have always had, since I have been here at the club”. The Sun claims, however, that, away from the eyes of the Dutchman, meetings also took place between the directors of the “Cormorants”, worried that he “lost the dressing room”.

The Sun: “Another defeat would put pressure on patrons to act”

The Board of Directors would have decided to wait until the end of this year, to see if Slot can change the situation. “But another defeat to West Ham on Sunday would not only put more pressure on Slot but FSG to act,” writes The Sun.

Liverpool spent over 500 million euros in the summer on player purchases, but in the Premier League they are 12th in the Premier League after 12 rounds! The club faced another such crisis in the 1953–54 season, when the team was eventually relegated.
