Nazarovo coal miners made their contribution to preserving the environment by taking part in the All-Russian campaign for collecting waste paper “BoomBattle”.

The action is held in support of the national project “Ecological Well-Being” with the support of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

The Nazarovsky open-pit mine traditionally joins this important environmental event: the enterprise annually sends from 100 to 200 kg of waste paper for processing. And this year was no exception: as part of the campaign, we managed to collect 110 kg of recycled paper.

“Our company collects waste paper throughout the year: the paper is systematically stored and then sent for recycling. This practice allows us to contribute to caring for the environment,” noted one of the organizers of the event, controller of measuring instruments and special tools of the technical control department of the Nazarovsky open-pit mine, Evgenia Bondareva.

This year, the environmental flash mob for collecting waste paper took on a year-round nature and started in March. During this time, more than 750 thousand people took part in the project, who collected more than 35.5 thousand tons of waste paper.

Marina Savitskaya, a specialist in the chief mechanic’s department, also spoke about the importance of personal participation in environmental matters: “Despite digitalization, a lot of paper is still used in circulation. I'm glad I can do my part and recycle paper, giving it a new life.”

It should be noted that the coal miners of SUEK-Krasnoyarsk are regular participants in the BoomBattle. They are confident that the event not only helps reduce waste, but also creates a sustainable habit of caring for natural resources in enterprises. Every kilogram of waste paper collected means trees saved, water and energy saved, and a step towards a more environmentally friendly future.
