The press officer who assaulted journalists at the Parliament is under disciplinary investigation by the Prime Minister's Office

The preliminary disciplinary investigation procedure was started against the press officer who handcuffed journalists in the Parliament, on Wednesday, November 26, the Prime Minister's Chancellery announces.

“At the level of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, the procedure regarding the preliminary disciplinary investigation was initiated, according to the Labor Code, against the employee of the institution, with the duties of a press officer, involved in the incident that happened on Wednesday, November 26, at the Parliament Palace”, according to the press release.
The measure was ordered by the Head of the Prime Minister's Chancellery, Mihai Jurca, who decided to set up a special commission that will analyze the situation in accordance with the Labor Code.
The commission is coordinated by a dignitary with experience in labor law and is made up of legal, communication and media relations specialists within the institution. This will have the role of evaluating the facts, circumstances and possible violations of the rules.
On Thursday, November 27, the spokesperson of the Government, Ioana Dogioiu, stated about the incident at the Parliament, when the press was prevented from asking questions to Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, that the press officer did not receive any kind of indication to come into physical contact with the journalists, to push them.
