Two women, aged 65 and 71, died on Thursday, November 27, after being poisoned by smoke in a fire that broke out in a house in Pașcani municipality, Blagești suburb. According to the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) Iași, the fire allegedly started from a faulty refrigerator.

Two fire trucks, 13 firefighters, a first aid crew and one from the County Ambulance Service were sent to the scene.
“When the intervention forces arrived, the fire was no longer evident, but the room was heavily smoky. After entering the house, two deceased female persons were discovered, intoxicated by smoke, following a fire that broke out in a refrigerator. Nothing could be done for the two victims. The case was taken over by the competent authorities for investigations”. said the spokesperson of ISU Iasi, Georgica Onofreiasa, according to Agerpres.
