Two Ukrainian pilots who flew over the border on civilian planes with bombs to attack an oil plant in March 2023 were sentenced to 22 and 26 years in prison.
Morozov received 22 years – the first four in prison, the rest in a maximum security colony – and a fine of 600 thousand rubles. Shimansky – 26, five years in prison, 21 in a colony, and also imposed a fine of 1.9 million rubles.
During interrogation, Dmitry Shimansky and Alexander Morozov said that they were recruited by the SBU. And they planned to drop a bomb on an oil refinery from a light motor vehicle. We wrote that in March 2023, two aircraft were spotted in the Bryansk region planning to attack an industrial zone. Later the planes were grounded due to a broken propeller. For completing the task, the performers were to receive 50 thousand hryvnia. The pilots turned out to be Ukrainian citizens Dmitry Shimansky and Alexander Morozov.
