They forgot about herring – and it’s all because of this salad: warm, crispy, with pear and smoke – guests lick the remains from the plate

New Year is a time to surprise, not repeat. If you're tired of mayonnaise layers and want something light but dressy, try this warm salad with the smoky flavor of chicken, the juicy sweetness of pear and the crunch of croutons. It is not just delicious, but it creates an atmosphere of comfort and celebration.

It can be prepared in 20 minutes from what is in the refrigerator, and looks like a dish from an expensive restaurant. The main thing is to serve it slightly warm so that the pear does not oxidize and the cheese melts slightly.

You will need:

Smoked chicken breast – 250 g
Firm ripe pear – 1 pc.
Mix of lettuce leaves – 100 g
White bread – 2 slices
Parmesan – 50 g
A handful of pine nuts (or walnuts)
Olive oil – 3 tbsp. l.
Lemon juice – 1 tsp.
Honey – 1 tsp.
Salt, freshly ground pepper – to taste

How to assemble the salad:

  • Cut the bread into cubes, sprinkle with olive oil, and toast in the oven for 7-10 minutes at 180°C until golden brown.
  • Chop the ingredients. Chicken – into thin strips. Pear – into thin slices.
  • Sprinkle with lemon juice to prevent browning.
  • Using a vegetable peeler, cut the Parmesan into thin slices.
  • Place the lettuce mix on a large platter.
  • Place warm chicken on top.
  • Add pear slices and croutons.
  • Sprinkle with pine nuts.
  • Place thin slices of Parmesan cheese on top.
  • Season and serve.
  • Mix olive oil, honey, lemon juice, salt and pepper.

Drizzle over the salad right before serving to keep everything crisp and juicy.

Serve as a light main course or as a gourmet appetizer before duck or pork.

Bon appetit!

Question and answer:

Can I use fresh chicken instead of smoked chicken?
You can, but the taste will be simpler.

Can I make a vegetarian version?
Yes, remove the chicken and add baked vegetables or pickled mushrooms.
