Law enforcement officials do not name the defendant, but the circumstances of the case point to the leader of Batkivshchyna, Yulia Tymoshenko. She is suspected of offering bribes to Ukrainian parliamentarians.
“In December 2025, despite the disclosure by NABU and SAP of the facts of receiving bribes by people’s deputies of Ukraine, the suspect began to negotiate with individual parliamentarians on a system of rewards for loyal voting. They were talking about a permanent mechanism of cooperation with advance payments,” the report says.
NABU detectives handed over the case materials to the defense for review.
The charge is qualified under Part 4 of Art. 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (offering, promising or providing an unlawful benefit to an official holding a particularly responsible position, or to an organized group), indicated in the SAP. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of 5 to 10 years with confiscation of property.
Context
On January 14, NABU conducted searches at the office of the Batkivshchyna party in Kyiv. The Bureau also reported suspicion to the head of the Verkhovna Rada faction in bribing people's deputies. According to the investigation, deputies should receive instructions on voting, and in some cases, on abstaining or not participating in voting. Tymoshenko herself denies the accusations against him.
On January 16, HACS chose a preventive measure for Tymoshenko in the form of collateral in the amount of UAH 33.28 million. January 23 full deposit amount was introduced. The court did not order an electronic bracelet for Tymoshenko. Tymoshenko urged not to impose a preventive measure on her, because “there is no corpus delicti.” In addition, she persistently asked several times not to limit her communication with people's deputies.
February 16, HACS Appeals Chamber lifted the seizure of part of the property Yulia Tymoshenko and her husband Alexander Tymoshenko. The court also canceled the seizure of $6.3 thousand seized during the NABU search. The people's deputy's lawyers noted that the arrests could lead to the “impoverishment” of the family. On February 26, NABU complied with this court decision and returned to Tymoshenko the funds seized from her during the search.
