A man tried to steal a 35,000 lei bracelet and a diamond ring from a mall in Timisoara, but was caught by a passerby. The jewelry was recovered and the moments were captured by video cameras in the commercial unit.
The incident took place on Tuesday evening, November 25, in a jewelry store in a shopping center in Timișoara. According to the police, the man entered the store and asked to see a bracelet valued at over 35,000 lei and a diamond ring. When the seller presented the jewels to him, he hit her and ran away with them in hand.
The woman shouted for help, and a passerby managed to follow and stop the thief right inside the mall. Other customers immediately intervened until security and police arrived. Everything was captured by surveillance cameras.
The stolen jewelry has been fully recovered. The suspect, a Romanian citizen with a father of Nigerian origin, was detained and taken for questioning, according to News.ro.
