Addressing participants via video link, Mr.Governor Mikhail Kotyukov noted that The basis will be a unified quality standard for natural science education, which is being developed by the regional Ministry of Education. In educational institutions, the number of special classes and technical profiles is increasing, a unified model of career guidance is in effect, and new forms of interaction between schools and universities are emerging.
Proposals include the introduction of special programs and the creation of flagship schools in Krasnoyarsk. For example, pThe “Smart Vacations” project involves conducting short intensive courses during school holidays on topics dedicated to physical, mathematical and natural sciences. This opportunity should be provided to every schoolchild; participation is voluntary. Another project “Youth University” will form communities where a schoolchild, a university student and a teacher will work on a common topic. Examples of these models in the region are the Siberian Federal University Physics and Mathematics School, IT-KUB centers, Quantoriums, and the Sputnik Regional Center for Gifted Children.
“In the region, there is a “school – one university” model for students in special classes. The new network model combines the resources of several educational partner organizations, and children gain access to a wider range of educational resources, teachers and programs. That is, each graduate will be able to study the subject in depth, in conjunction with different professions. For example, a graduate of a chemical and biological class will be able to become a teacher, doctor or scientist. At the same time, the share of graduates of special classes who choose to enroll in natural science universities should remain at least 80%,” noted the region’s Minister of Education Tatyana Gridasova.
To ensure staffing for this task, a network of psychological and pedagogical classes is being developed in the region, and advanced training courses are being held for teachers of mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology.
A regional system of measures to improve the quality of science and mathematics education will be presented to the governor by the end of the year.
