Operator T2 increased 4G speed in the northernmost cities of the Krasnoyarsk Territory

T2, a Russian mobile operator, has accelerated 4G Internet in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory using refarming – redistribution of frequencies. After modernization, 200 thousand residents of Norilsk and Dudinka can use online services at maximum speeds.

The operator carried out refarming and updated network equipment in the two northernmost cities of the Krasnoyarsk Territory – Norilsk and Dudinka. The modernization made it possible to increase network capacity. As a result, the speed of mobile Internet in the most popular communication standard – 4G – increased by an average of 50%, in some places the increase was 100-200%.

New Internet speeds automatically became available to all T2 customers whose devices support 4G. Refarming had a particularly noticeable impact on the processing of heavy content. The operator's subscribers can watch videos in even higher quality, download and send gigabyte files faster. Maximum Internet speeds exceeded 100 Mbit/s. Improvements are felt even during peak network load hours.

Among social networks and instant messengers, residents of Norilsk and Dudinka most actively use TikTok and Telegram. After the refarming, communicating and viewing news in these services has become even more convenient – videos are loaded without interference, and messages are sent in a split second.

“Infrastructure development in the north of the region is one of our priorities. Norilsk and Dudinka are located in difficult climatic conditions, and high-quality communication here is especially important for a comfortable life. We see how mobile traffic consumption is growing in these cities: people actively use video services and communicate with family. Timely modernization of the network allows us to meet customer demands and ensure stable quality of services even under high loads,” noted Yuri Kamalov, director of the T2 branch in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

Previously, T2 accelerated the Internet using refarming in Krasnoyarsk, Sosnovoborsk, Zheleznogorsk, Zelenogorsk, Achinsk, Kansk, Kodinsk, Yeniseisk, Lesosibirsk, Bogotol, Uyar, Zaozerny, Ilansky, Shushenskoye, Sharypovo, Borodino, Nazarovo, Kuragino, Minusinsk and other settlements throughout the region.

Despite the current situation and restrictions in the use of data services, T2 continues to invest in network development and improve the customer experience of using the mobile Internet. The company is carrying out work to update equipment and expand the 4G band at base stations throughout Siberia.
