In Khakassia, a group of young terrorists were convicted of arson on the railway

The 2nd Eastern District Military Court sentenced a 16-year-old, a 17-year-old and two 18-year-old residents of Khakassia, who were responsible for arson at transport infrastructure facilities.

The West Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office said that in May 2024, young people, for 40 thousand rubles promised by an unknown curator, set fire to two relay cabinets on the railway tracks between Askiz and Chartykovsky stations. The damage amounted to over 55 thousand rubles.

In addition, two guys, while on the territory of one of the railway transport enterprises, tried to set fire to a diesel locomotive worth over 40 million rubles; they were stopped by law enforcement officers.

A criminal case was opened against the young people for a terrorist attack (Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), attempted terrorism (Article 30, Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and assistance to terrorist activities (Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

The court sentenced two minors to imprisonment for 6 and 7 years in a correctional colony, and the other two – in a general regime correctional colony for 6 years each.
