Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says there is some willingness to incorporate the “Ukrainian vision” into the peace plan delivered to Kiev this week by the Donald Trump administration, the initial version of which was deemed excessively favorable to Russia by Brussels and Kiev, during contacts in Geneva on Sunday between delegations from his country, the US and some European countries.
“At the moment, there is an understanding that the American proposals may take into account a number of elements based on the Ukrainian vision and which are of critical importance to the national interests of Ukraine,” President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on his Telegram and X accounts, according to Agerpres.
“Several efforts are underway to make all elements truly effective in achieving the main goal expected by our people: to end bloodshed and war once and for all,” Zelenskiy added.
The crux of the entire diplomatic situation is that it was Russia, and only Russia, that started this war, and it is Russia, and only Russia, that has been refusing to end it throughout the full-scale invasion. From the very first minutes of February 24, Putin has been waging…

The Ukrainian president indicated that the delegation led by the head of his chancellery, Andrii Iermak, is working in Geneva to “end the war, restore peace and guarantee lasting security” and that he has already informed him about the results of the first meetings in the Swiss city.
Zelenski described as “positive” the fact that diplomacy has been relaunched, at this stage without the participation of Russia.
Iermak had a first meeting on Sunday morning with the security advisers of Great Britain (Jonathan Powell), France (Emmanuel Bonne) and Germany (Gunter Sautter).
The next meeting, where Trump's 28-point plan will be presented, is expected to take place at the headquarters of the US Mission to the UN in Geneva, where US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will also be accompanied by Special Envoy for Peace Missions Steve Witkoff and Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll.
Trump has given Zelenskiy just one week until Thursday, November 27, to accept his peace plan that was surprisingly presented on Thursday, November 20, although the US president stressed that it was not the “last offer”.
A “constructive” cooperation with the US for a new version of the peace plan
The new version of the US plan to end the war in Ukraine reflects “most of the key priorities” of Kiev, one of the members of the Ukrainian delegation to the Geneva talks estimated on Sunday, according to AFP.
“The current version of the document, although still in the final stages of its approval, already reflects most of Ukraine's key priorities,” Rustem Umerov, head of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, said on Facebook.
Calling the cooperation with the US “constructive”, he welcomed “the attention they pay to the comments” of the Ukrainians.
American, Ukrainian and European officials met in Geneva on Sunday to discuss Donald Trump's plan for Ukraine.
The plan proposed by the US for Ukraine had been rejected on Friday by Volodymyr Zelensky, who had promised “alternatives” to Washington.
His Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin had considered that the American text could “serve as a basis for a definitive settlement” of the conflict, pressuring Kiev to negotiate.
Some points of the plan are interpreted by Kiev as a capitulation to Moscow, among them are those that provide for the ceding of the Donbas region to Russia, the recognition of the Crimean peninsula as part of Russian territory or the reduction of the Ukrainian army, from the current 900,000 soldiers to 600,000.
