Completely Russian aircraft MS-21 made the first flight

The plane completely equipped with Russian systems and units first rose to the sky from the airfield of the Irkutsk Aviation Plant of Yakovlev. The flight lasted 1 hour 15 minutes, during which time the liner reached a speed of 580 km/h and a height of 3000 m.
“MS-21 is designed to replace Boeing and Eirbasy in the sky of Russia. This is an advanced plane in its characteristics, very modern and comfortable, with outstanding aerodynamics and new generation systems on board. In combination with PD-14 engines, this provides low operating costs and a good economy for airlines. Our aircraft builders did a lot of work, replacing about 80 foreign systems and units, so as not to depend on sanctions and suppliers from other countries. Today's flight takes us a step closer to certification and the beginning of the supply of imported MS-21 to the market, ”said Oleg Yevtushenko, Executive Director of Rostec.

In total, 80 foreign systems were replaced in the liner, including on -board electronic equipment, power supply, hydraulic systems, chassis.
MS-21-a new generation of 230 seats with a capacity of a new generation of new generation. It is planned that the certified flights will begin a fully imported aircraft in June-July 2025.
