In Divnogorsk, a robber pretended to be a social service worker and entered the apartment of a pensioner.

In early October, a 57-year-old resident of Divnogorsk contacted the local police duty station with a statement that an unknown man had robbed his elderly mother, who is disabled and has difficulty moving around the house.

The police found out that the attacker entered the apartment of an 85-year-old pensioner under the guise of a social service worker. First, the man measured the grandmother’s blood pressure, asked about her health, volunteered to go to the pharmacy to buy medicine, but when he heard that the woman had no money, he abruptly changed the tone of the conversation. He forcefully pulled the victim’s hand, causing her to fall onto the sofa, and he began to look around the apartment in search of valuable property. Seeing a TV on the table, he grabbed it and ran away.

During operational activities, criminal investigation officers identified the robber and detained him. He turned out to be a 49-year-old local resident. It turned out that the attacker handed over the stolen TV to a thrift store, earning 3 thousand rubles for it. Investigators seized the property and returned it to its rightful owners.

A criminal case was opened against the attacker under Part 2 of Art. 161 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Robbery”. The maximum penalty for this crime is 7 years in prison. The criminal investigation has now been completed.
