Bolsonaro, 70, who was under house arrest and ordered to wear an electronic surveillance device, was arrested after trying to free himself from it using a soldering iron. Federal agents entered Bolsonaro's home on the orders of a Supreme Court judge to take the former president to federal police headquarters in the country's capital, where he was accused of “attempting to escape” from his place of confinement.

The authorities released a video in which they illustrated the message about the entire event with photos of traces of damage to electronic handcuffs. These photos constitute, according to the release, documentation of “detailed electronic examinations of the damaged equipment.”
Former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro – according to Saturday's information from the Brazilian electronic media – admitted: “out of curiosity I used a hot iron.”
According to the court and the prosecutor's office, as reported by the Brazilian media, there are indications that Bolsonaro, convicted of the coup d'état, is planning to escape to one of the embassies, the USA, Argentina or Hungary.
