Four people were detained as part of the investigation into acts of sabotage. Three were released, and one was charged with hiding documents – said the spokesman for the National Prosecutor's Office, Prosecutor Przemysław Nowak, on Friday.

He said that officers of the Internal Security Agency and the Central Police Investigation Bureau detained these people on Tuesday.
“The collected evidence did not provide grounds to charge them with participation in the sabotage acts of November 15-16, 2025. After being questioned as witnesses, three of the four people were released,” noted Prosecutor Nowak.
He added that the prosecutor presented one of the detained persons (M. Ch.) with a charge unrelated to acts of sabotage.
“The charge concerns hiding documents (including Russian passports) that the suspect had no right to dispose of,” explained the spokesman for the prosecutor's office.
Due to the lack of permanent residence of the suspect, the prosecutor submitted a request to the court for temporary arrest. This request was not granted.
“The decision on a possible complaint will be made after reviewing the written justification,” noted prosecutor Nowak.
Acts of sabotage occurred on the Warsaw-Dorohusk route. In the town of Mika (Masovian Voivodeship, Garwoliński County), an explosion of an explosive device destroyed a railway track. In another place, near the Gołąb railway station (Puławy County, Lublin Voivodeship), on Sunday a train with 475 passengers had to suddenly brake due to a damaged railway line.
The prosecutor's office initiated an investigation into acts of sabotage of a terrorist nature directed against railway infrastructure and committed for the benefit of foreign intelligence. The National Commission for the Investigation of Railway Accidents has also undertaken proceedings in these matters and will notify the European Union Railway Agency about it.
The prosecutor's office brings charges against two Ukrainian citizens in this case: Oleksandr K. (39 years old) and Yevhenii I. (41 years old). They concern committing acts of sabotage of a terrorist nature for the benefit of the intelligence service of the Russian Federation against the Republic of Poland. This is a qualified charge under three articles – concerning a variety of espionage in the form of acts of sabotage on behalf of foreign intelligence, causing a threat of disaster in land traffic and the use of explosives. The penalty is life imprisonment.
The spokesman for the National Prosecutor's Office, Prosecutor Przemysław Nowak, announced on Wednesday that the men were accused of acting together and in concert with each other, but also with other unidentified persons. On Wednesday, the Belarusian charge d'affaires received a note requesting the extradition of both men. (PAP)
