On Friday, the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders accepted the motion to open the liquidation of Stomil Poznań SA, submitted by the Company's Management Board on November 27, 2025, Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa informed PAP. PGZ is the main shareholder of the Poznań-based company.

The announcement sent to PAP informed that “the liquidation of the company will be a process supervised by shareholders, gradual, long-term and conducted in accordance with the law.”

It was emphasized that this process, unlike possible bankruptcy proceedings, allows for maintaining “full control over the pace and direction of activities, with respect for employees, contractors and the local community.”

At the same time, it should be emphasized that the liquidation of a company does not mean the automatic extinction of all its powers. In the PGZ Group, we are analyzing the possibility of separating an Organized Part of the Enterprise, which, after transfer, could strengthen another company of the PGZ Capital Group and continue operations in areas that remain promising – it was noted in the announcement and it was indicated that the competences of Stomil Poznań SA employees may constitute a valuable reinforcement, among others: for Wojskowe Zakłady Automotive SA or H. Cegielski-Poznań SA plant

“We are fully aware of how important a role Stomil has played and continues to play in Poznań for many years and how strongly the local community is associated with it. Therefore, our priority is to carry out all activities with the utmost respect for employees, with transparent communication and real support at every stage of the process,” the press release emphasized.

Stomil Poznań SA has almost 100 years of history; currently it is a PGZ company.

The president of PGZ, Adam Leszkiewicz, emphasized in an interview with local Radio Poznań that restructuring plans gave no chance to improve the situation, and restoring profitability would require a complete change in production technology, which would involve huge costs.

“We are looking, and I say this clearly, at the last 10 years, when there was no development impulse, when there were no decisions regarding investments, there were no elements that are currently happening in the case of other companies, when the company's assets were sold in 2023. This caused, limited and weakened Stomil Poznań a lot,” said Leszkiewicz, quoted by Radio Poznań on Friday.

Leszkiewicz also pointed out that the liquidation process of Stomil is expected to take over a year. The president of PGZ also said that some of the over 100-person crew will be offered a transfer to other Poznań plants belonging to the Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa. He also announced the launch of a voluntary departure program. (PAP)
