Officially retired in February 2025 after losing to Lucia Bronzetti (1-6, 1-6) at the Transylvania Open, Halep ended her career after her last professional match.

Later present in Riyadh, where she watched the matches of the Tournament of Champions, the former champion is convinced that Saudi Arabia will become, by 2035, a major development pole for tennis, with investments and infrastructure on the rise.

What Arabs do is really, really, beautiful and impressive. This will help the region progress in tennis. And I'm sure more kids will come and more kids will have the desire, because they need to feel that to become professional tennis players.

It's not easy, but they have all the facilities and I feel things will improve in 10 years. I was talking about 10 years from now, I feel like there's going to be something huge here!said Simona Halep, for The National News.

Recent purchase of 600,000 euros

Simona Halep bought a €600,000 house near Bucharest, close to a golf course, shortly after she retired from professional tennis.

The athlete from Constanța said she wants to learn to play golf and continue to take care of her body. She started playing golf right around the time she was suspended for doping, and now the sport seems to have become her new passion.

The move to a luxurious area close to the golf course came as a change of pace after intense and demanding years in performance tennis.
