Sick man, humiliated by several villagers driving a nail into his jacket sleeve. The victim, crucified in the footage, died in the meantime

A 56-year-old man was mocked in front of several people, in the village of Chiraftei, Galati county, being tied by the hands, then his crucifixion was simulated, with a nail driven into his jacket sleeve. The terrifying images have now emerged, but the deed took place in January. The victim died in the meantime.

Video images shared on a Facebook page, in the community of Măstăcani, Galați County, show the mocking of a local by the villagers. The incident would have taken place in January, but the images were made public only now.

A sick man in a sitting position on a chair with his back against a wall has both hands immobilized, and at one point another man pins his left hand to the wall with a nail driven into his jacket sleeve.

The police reported themselves in this case.

“Following the investigative activities carried out by the police from Section 5 of the Rădești Rural Police, the persons appearing in the images were identified. The man on the chair is 59 years old and is from Chiraftei village, Măstăcani commune. Six other people, aged between 16 and 50, all from the same locality, were present at the incident. It was also established that the filming took place in early January this year at the home of a 26-year-old man“, the Galati Police transmits on Wednesday.

In the case, a criminal file was drawn up regarding the commission of the crime of deprivation of liberty, the investigations being continued under the supervision of a prosecutor from the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Târgu Bujor Court, in order to establish all the circumstances in which the acts were committed.

Later, on March 22, 2026, the 59-year-old man died as a result of several medical conditions he was suffering from, the death having no connection with the act of which the 26-year-old is accused.
