In Dudinka, a woman gave more than 2 million rubles to false investigators

In Dudinka, scammers disguised as investigators stole 2.2 million rubles from a woman. The regional prosecutor's office spoke about this.
At the end of October, the 43-year-old head of a municipal institution received a message on her phone from an alleged former colleague who warned about a “check.” Following this, the woman began receiving calls from men who introduced themselves as security investigators.
The attackers described in detail a fictitious criminal case about the financing of extremism, stating that transfers were made from the victim’s bank accounts to a person banned in the Russian Federation. To be convincing, the scammers sent her a falsified certificate from the Central Bank.
“Under pressure—threats of dismissal of her law enforcement husband and criminal prosecution—the woman submitted to the demands of the scammers. Under the guidance of a “Central Bank employee,” she declared through a fake application and transferred all her savings to a “single reserve account”—705 thousand rubles, which she had been saving for several years,” the press service of the supervisory agency reported.
In the following days, continuing to believe in the legend of “protecting funds from confiscation,” the woman took out loans from two banks and also transferred this money to the scammers – another 1.5 million rubles.
However, the scammers were not satisfied with this and demanded to issue a new loan for 4 million rubles. The woman, seeing no way out, told her husband everything, after which she turned to real law enforcement officers.
Based on this fact, a criminal case was opened for fraud (Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
