When the new movie “The Hunger Games” about Haymitch Abernathy's origin story comes out

Lionsgate Films released the trailer for “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping”, film that will be about the origin story of Haymitch Abernathy, a character played in previous films by Woody Harrelson.

Joseph Zada ​​plays the young version of Haymitch in this prequel, which takes place twenty-four years before the events of “The Hunger Games”, writes CNN.

The new film begins on the morning of the harvest for the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Special Edition every 25 years, and the action gets intense from the start.

Based on the beloved book series by Suzanne Collins, the film franchise has become extremely popular globally.

In addition to Zada, the cast of the new film includes Whitney Peak, Mckenna Grace, Jesse Plemons, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Maya Hawke, Elle Fanning, Kieran Culkin, Glenn Close and Billy Porter, among others.

Ralph Fiennes will play President Coriolanus Snow. Tom Blyth played the young version in the 2023 film “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes”, and the late Donald Sutherland played this role in “The Hunger Games” (2012). He went on to play the character in “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” (2013) and in “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1” (2014) and Part 2 (2015).

Sutherland died in June 2024 after a long illness. He was 88 years old.

Directed by Francis Lawrence, “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping” will hit theaters on November 20, 2026.
