“Because this is what everything else is based on – our sovereignty, our independence, our land, our people. And the Ukrainian future,” the head of state said. “We will and must do everything so that the end of the war occurs and the end of Ukraine, the end of Europe and the global world do not happen.”
Zelensky said that he had conversations with the leaders of European countries.
“We are counting on European friends who clearly understand that Russia is not somewhere far away, that it is close to the borders of the EU, that Ukraine is now the only shield separating a comfortable European life from plans [нелегитимного российского президента Владимира] Putin. We remember: Europe was with us. We believe: Europe will be with us,” the president noted.
According to him, Ukraine “should not see deja vu” on February 24, when “there was a feeling that we were alone.”
“When no one could stop Russia except our heroic people who stood up like a wall against Putin’s army. And we, of course, were very pleased when the world said: Ukrainians are incredible; God, what kind of Ukrainians they are, how they fight, how Ukrainians fight; what titans they are. And this is the truth. Absolute,” Zelensky emphasized.
