The hearings took place at the headquarters of the Prosecutor's Office next to the Ploiesti Court of Appeal, on Friday, November 21.
The file is related to the fact that prefect Daniel Nicodim did not issue an order to dismiss mayor Vlad Oprea, who for over six months could not exercise his mandate due to the ban imposed by DNA prosecutors.
In October, the mayor of the Sinaia resort, Vlad Oprea, returned to the town hall, after escaping house arrest, writes Agerpres.
Vlad Oprea, accused of violating the prohibitions he had during the judicial control imposed by DNA prosecutors, escaped from house arrest on October 17.
In January, he was placed under judicial control, in a file in which he is being investigated for corruption, having at that time several prohibitions, including the one to exercise the function of mayor and to contact the witnesses in the file, both directly and indirectly.
Later, the mayor was pre-arrested in May, being accused of having violated the prohibitions he had during the judicial control. Pre-trial detention was then replaced by house arrest.
The prosecutors argued that, on March 4 and March 13, Vlad Oprea met, in the technical room of a hotel in Sinaia, with the city's deputy mayor, who was exercising the duties of mayor.
Vlad Oprea is being criminally prosecuted by the DNA for taking bribes in a continuous form, carrying out financial operations, as commercial acts, incompatible with the function, attribution or task that a person fulfills or concluding financial transactions using the information obtained by virtue of his function, attribution or assignment, influence peddling in a continuous form and false declarations of wealth, in a continuous form.
Also, the mayor is criminally prosecuted for abuse of office, if the official has obtained for himself or for another an improper benefit, the use of influence or authority by a person who performs a leadership position in a party, in order to obtain for himself or for another improper money, goods or other benefits, money laundering and the execution without legal authorization or with non-compliance with the provisions of the authorizations issued for the construction or demolition of buildings located in the city of Sinaia.
