The Krasnoyarsk Philharmonic and Siberian Federal University launched the “Music Laboratory” project. The day before, the first educational concert-lecture was held in the congress hall of the university.
The Krasnoyarsk Academic Symphony Orchestra under the direction of conductor Vladimir Lande performed classical works. The concert was led by the conductor himself, telling the audience about the historical and cultural context of the works, the features of the composer's style and their significance for Russian and world culture. Viewers could ask their own questions.
“Once upon a time, music lessons were held in non-musical educational institutions. Today, on the initiative of the head of the region, within the framework of the large-scale SFU project “Cultural University”, thanks to the cooperation of the university and the Philharmonic, a “Music Laboratory” has appeared: several times a year, SFU students and teachers will attend concerts and lectures. This format will give young listeners the opportunity not only to get acquainted with world musical masterpieces, but also to learn to understand and hear music, revealing its deep cultural and semantic layers,” said the region’s Minister of Culture Arkady Zinov.
For the first year of the project, the organizers have planned a series of six concerts, which will be held at various university venues.
As noted at SFU, the “Music Laboratory” concerts are currently available to attend only SFU students and teachers, but in the future it will be possible to invite students and teachers of other universities to events.
For reference: The comprehensive project of SFU “Cultural University” is designed to introduce students to classical music and art as an important part of the cultural heritage and modern cultural space. Particular attention is paid to the fact that academic art is open to the perception and participation of an “ordinary person” who does not have special professional training. The project includes several areas: “Music Laboratory”, promotion of the “Pushkin Map” project among university students, as well as a media block in which students try their hand at creating podcasts about culture.
