I spray the glass a couple of times and the glasses don’t fog up either under the hat or under the mask: transparency lasts all day

With the arrival of cold weather, there is a familiar problem: I put on a scarf or a thick hat and my glasses instantly become foggy. Neither the road, nor the face of the interlocutor, nor the traffic light are visible. It seems that you can’t do without expensive sprays. But in reality everything is much simpler.

There is a homemade solution that can be prepared in 30 seconds from what is found in any kitchen. It creates an invisible film on the glass that prevents moisture from collecting in drops. The gaze remains clear even in severe frost, when suddenly entering warm weather, or while talking while wearing a mask.

To prepare the solution you will need water and liquid soap without fragrances or dyes. Take two tablespoons of water and a quarter teaspoon of soap. Mix the ingredients in a small container or directly in a spray bottle. Clean your glasses with a dry cloth. Apply the product to each glass. Blend in a thin layer with a clean microfiber and let dry for 10-15 seconds.

The secret is that soap makes the surface hydrophilic. Moisture does not collect in drops, but is distributed in an even film that remains transparent. There will be no divorces if you don’t overdo it with the quantity.

The effect lasts up to 12–24 hours depending on humidity and temperature. It is suitable for any glasses: with prescriptions, sunglasses, even with protective coatings.

To see the world clearly, two sprays in the morning are enough and you can forget about the fog until the evening.

Question and answer:

Why do my glasses fog up under a hat or scarf?
Warm air from your breath and body hits the cold glass and condenses. This is a natural physical process, but it can be controlled.

How often should the treatment be repeated?
Once a day is enough. If the room is very humid or you talk a lot while wearing a mask, you can update in the morning and afternoon.

Can I use shower gel instead of liquid soap?
Better not. Gels often contain dyes, silicones and fragrances that leave streaks. Only clear, plain dish soap or baby soap will do.
