Two-time Olympic champion in swimming Evgeny Rylov visited the Krasnoyarsk Territory on a two-day working visit. The regional Ministry of Sports spoke about this.
Evgeny Rylov is the head of sports projects of the Russian Aquatics Federation and the ambassador of the all-Russian program “Swimming for All”. In the Krasnoyarsk cluster “Rainbow” he met with young swimmers and talked with members of the working group for the implementation of the project. In Sosnovoborsk, the Olympic champion visited the Nadezhda sports and recreation complex, and in Zheleznogorsk, he visited the Raduga sports complex.
“The purpose of my visit is to get acquainted with projects for the development of swimming in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. I am sure that swimming should be popularized, made widespread, and children should definitely be taught to swim,” said Evgeny Rylov.
Among the positive results of the region, the athlete noted the active construction of swimming pools – five of them have been opened since 2021. The Olympic champion also liked that in the region, not only children, but also adults are involved in swimming – people of the older generation are given certificates for free sports activities, including visiting the pool.

Evgeny Rylov also highly appreciated the experience of the Krasnoyarsk Territory in teaching swimming to schoolchildren in summer country camps. Children were able to master this skill in just one season, namely 12 lessons. According to the athlete, this practice can be extended to other regions.
“Our strategic goals are to improve the accessibility of swimming pools and to identify promising athletes. But the program has a particularly important role in preventing accidents,” said Denis Petrovsky, Minister of Sports of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
Let us remind you that the “Swimming for All” program has been in effect since 2024 on the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Krasnoyarsk Territory was one of the first to join it. Over 120 thousand children have already completed training under the program in the region. More than 360 sports instructors, coaches and physical education teachers took part in this work.
By 2030, it is planned to teach swimming to over 378 thousand children in the region, including more than 5 thousand children with disabilities.
