— I have resolved eight wars. I still have one left. Do you know what kind? “I thought this one would be easy because I have a good relationship with President Putin, but I'm a little disappointed in President Putin right now, and he knows it,” Trump said. He later recalled that Putin congratulated him on resolving the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which – according to Trump – Russia had been trying to end for many years.
— I said, don't worry about it. Just let me end your damn war, okay? You don't have to help me, I don't need any help. I need help with your war – and it will happen, he added.
Trump on disappointment with Putin's attitude. “I ended eight wars”
Trump has repeatedly spoken about his disappointment with Putin's attitude. However, his Wednesday words were made against the background of reports, among others: Axios and “Financial Times” about the peace plan negotiated with Russia, which the US wants to force Ukraine to accept. This plan is to include, among others: handing over the rest of the unoccupied Donbas to Russia, partial disarmament and a radical reduction in the size of the Ukrainian army, and, according to Axios, also recognition of the Russian annexation of Crimea and Donbas by Washington.
During his speech, Trump suggested that instead of a war in Ukraine, the next conflict he intended to resolve would be a civil war in Sudan.
— I have ended eight wars and let me tell you, His Majesty would like me to do something very important related to Sudan. It wasn't in my plans. “I thought it was just crazy and something that was out of control,” Trump said, addressing Saudi Crown Prince and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. — But I see how important it is for you and many of your friends to have peace in Sudan, so we will start working in Sudan, he added.
