Fire at an installation in the port of Constanța. The power supply has been turned off

A fire broke out in the port of Constanța, on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, at a ship loading facility in Dana 80, the firefighters intervened for about four hours, without registering any casualties.

According to the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) Dobrogea, the fire was extinguished around 3:00 and the conveyor belt and two filters of the crane burned.
Firefighters were requested to intervene to extinguish a fire at a ship loading facility, in Berth 80 of the port of Constanţa, the Comvex terminal, three fire trucks, a ladder truck, a truck platform, a truck for transporting multiple victims and an SMURD crew were mobilized on the spot, reports Agerpres.
The power supply has been turned off.
“The fire occurred at the electrical installation of the crane used for transshipment on the ship. There is no danger of the flames spreading to the ship. Work is being done to locate and extinguish it. (…) At this moment, work is being done at height (over 15 meters) to extinguish the fire that is manifested at a filter in the conveyor belt. At the time of the fire, the loading installation was not functional”the representatives of ISU “Dobrogea” transmitted during the intervention.
The fire was extinguished around 3:00, after an intervention of about four hours.
